Philosophy and Approach

I view therapy as a process of exploring with clients what is working, what is not working, and what changes can occur to create the life you envision for yourself. Because every person's life story is unique, I incorporate different approaches to best meet your needs.

I use an integrative approach to treatment, utilizing several theoretical models such as Adlerian, cognitive behavioral therapy, systems theory, narrative, and brief solution-focused.  Additionally, I incorporate the most current research in neuroscience to support and enhance the change process. Through this collective lens I view clients from a positive strength-based perspective.  The process of therapy begins with examining automatic thoughts and belief systems that sometimes keep clients stuck in patterns or ways of being in the world that no longer work for them.

The ultimate goal of therapy involves creating preferred narratives and actively making shifts (even small ones) in order to achieve desired outcomes. The process is collaborative and engaging and provides clients with a safe space to access and better utilize their innate strengths, develop new skills, and invite new perspectives to create lasting change.
